It is not a secret that advertising has evolved and continues to do so. We have definitely come a long way from traditional printed advertising, such as newspapers, journals, magazines, and even TV commercials.
We live in digital times and it’s uncommon for someone not to use social media.
Social media became a social phenomenon, with almost 8 million users worldwide by the time this article was written.
Platforms like: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and many more hold the attention of all those users each day.
That’s an ocean of opportunity for businesses and media of all sizes to get in front of the right people.
Which sounds like something amazing, doesn’t it?
First, before we even think of an answer to the question, we have to understand what traditional marketing or advertising is about.
Traditional marketing or advertising is driven off the online platforms, in ways such as
broadcasts, direct mail, telemarketing, outdoor advertising, and many more.
The goal at the end is the same, which is to attract new consumers through mass media and get those new customers to convert.
The biggest advantage that traditional advertising has over online advertising is the physical presence with the audience, which these days is something that a lot of brands and businesses are forgetting by relying too much on AI tools and automation.
And here is where we come into the debate in the marketing industry.
Can one survive without the other?
In short. Yes, but getting rid of one would be just like shooting yourself in the foot right before starting to run.
That just wouldn’t make sense…
Online advertisement has definitely advantages over traditional, most people would agree that the two strongest advantages are price on budget and reach of the target audience.
Which makes perfect sense, you can advertise on online platforms and spend only 1/7th of what you would have spent with traditional advertising and reach 5 times more people.
I believe that both complement each other.
Online advertising definitely changed traditional advertising… but it didn't end it.
And honestly, I don’t think it ever will.
My team and I believe that any business can achieve success in a way never seen before.
It would only need the best of both worlds of advertising.
Creating a personal touch so the audience can feel and relate while taking advantage of reach and placements so nobody can miss it.
